You’re not alone! Everyone wonders that sometimes. So many of us want to be the best we can be but never quite live up to our own expectations.
This Sunday we’ll hear from Paul, a man in the New Testament who used to think he was doing everything right. He followed every rule, doing what he believed was right, and yet by his own admission missed the point of it all. Later in his life he wrote about how, for all his efforts, he missed the biggest blessing which was right in front of him all alone.
His word of wisdom is simple: we can NEVER be good enough on our own, but Jesus MAKES us perfect.
Join us Sunday to hear this good news once again or, maybe, for the first time! We will also celebrate Communion with Christians all around the world– God’s loved experienced!
Wonderful Wednesday/Third Service
Don’t miss out on Wonderful Wednesday & Third Service on October 11th at 6:00pm in Friendship Place, on the east side of the church. We will gather for a pot-luck meal followed by Third Service in the same room. This is a great time to get together mid-week for some food, fellowship and faith! We ask that you bring a main course and either a side dish or dessert to share with the group. There will be a different speaker each week during Third Service. This week’s speaker is Lisa Dale!
Volunteers Needed – Update
Thank you to those of you who took the time to fill out the form for opportunities where you can be of service. Your help is much appreciated! There are still some areas that need attention. Those areas are: visiting nursing home and/or home-bound residents, worship leader, communion steward, greeters, radio announcer, bus driver, and video tech. If you have an interest in any of these areas, please let either Pastor Jeff or Lisa Dale know.
Come Sing With Us!
Chancel Choir has begun rehearsing for the season, and we’re having so much fun we can’t keep it to ourselves! This group gathers during the Sunday School hour to rehearse and share a weekly anthem during 2nd service from the choir loft. We laugh and kid around, we sing silly warm-ups, we pray together, we sing together, and we support each other. We are a warm-hearted group and want to invite new folks of all abilities and talents to share in the fun! Come by the choir loft between 9:45 and 10:15 each Sunday to find out more, or contact Anna Borders to sign up!
Pantry Needs: Spaghetti sauce, canned tuna (with pull tab to open), breakfast bars, fruit snack packs, pudding cup snack packs, canned fruit, spaghetti, canned vegetables, hamburger helper, crackers, peanut butter.
Don’t forget to support our Hope Houses, the colorful boxes on the west side of our building! Bring anything to leave for anyone to take.
Have you linked your Dillons Plus card with the church? If you do, a portion of all your normal purchases will go to support our ministries! You can set it up by clicking here or contact the office if you’d like help.
