None of us like to wait. From a doctor’s waiting room to longing for something in life, we just want to get on with it!
But when we take a step back, we all know that somethings can only happen when the time is right and that the best things in life are worth waiting for.
This Sunday we hear the story of a time God’s people had to wait for a very long time– it must have seemed like forever! They had moments where they didn’t handle the wait very well (don’t we all?) But in the end, the way God revealed himself to them changed everything.
Read ahead if you like (Exodus 32:1-14) and join us Sunday– you won’t have to wait long!
Unity In Diversity
We have an exciting opportunity coming up at FUMC. Our community is organizing a unity church service designed to bring together the diverse churches in Hutchinson– and we’re not only participating but hosting as well! On Sunday, October 22 at 6pm we will fill our huge sanctuary with people from all over Hutchinson! It will be a true worship service, led mostly by music groups from around town with a few brief speakers between them. Please share the invitation with your friends from other churches and those who don’t go to church, too. Click here to see the event on Facebook— please respond there if you plan to come, too, as it will help share it with even more people. It’s something you won’t want to miss!
Wonderful Wednesday/Third Service
You won’t want to miss out on Wonderful Wednesday & Third Service this week on October 18th at 6:00pm in Friendship Place, on the east side of the church. We will gather for a pot-luck meal followed by Third Service in the same room. This is a great time to get together mid-week for some food, fellowship and faith! We ask that you bring a main course and either a side dish or dessert to share with the group. There will be a different speaker each week during Third Service. This week’s speaker is Rev. Jeff Graber!
Come Sing With Us!
Chancel Choir has begun rehearsing for the season, and we’re having so much fun we can’t keep it to ourselves! This group gathers during the Sunday School hour to rehearse and share a weekly anthem during 2nd service from the choir loft. We laugh and kid around, we sing silly warm-ups, we pray together, we sing together, and we support each other. We are a warm-hearted group and want to invite new folks of all abilities and talents to share in the fun! Come by the choir loft between 9:45 and 10:15 each Sunday to find out more, or contact Anna Borders to sign up!
We give thanks for the life of Ruth Adams. You can read her obituary by clicking here.
Pantry Needs: Spaghetti sauce, canned tuna (with pull tab to open), breakfast bars, fruit snack packs, pudding cup snack packs, canned fruit, spaghetti, canned vegetables, hamburger helper, crackers, peanut butter.
Don’t forget to support our Hope Houses, the colorful boxes on the west side of our building! Bring anything to leave for anyone to take.
Have you linked your Dillons Plus card with the church? If you do, a portion of all your normal purchases will go to support our ministries! You can set it up by clicking here or contact the office if you’d like help.
