Weekly Update

Hope for Our Community

What hope does God offer for our community?

It’s a good question, especially considering that even a town like Hutchinson has people who are homeless, cold, and hungry. Even our own neighborhoods have people who are lonely, depressed, and hopeless. Yet God is Lord of all and is working in the lives of every person– EVERY person!

Come this week as we explore what God is doing in our own community and learn how we can be part of it. We have a special guest, Jim Unruh from Circles of Hope to share what they are doing, plus Pastor Jeff will share a story of how Jesus inspired a woman to transform her own community. See you there!

New to You Christmas Sale

On Saturday, December 2nd, the First United Methodist Women will host a New to You Christmas Sale from 8am to 1pm in Fellowship Hall.  There will be a Death by Chocolate booth, Cookies & Baked Items booth, and New to You Items for sale.  Lots of goodies and fun searching for that certain gift you may need for Christmas!

Hanging of the Greens

‘Tis the season to deck the halls! Help us usher in the holidays by decorating the church building for our Advent season. Wear your favorite silly holiday sweater and join us starting at 9:45 am on Sunday, December 3rd for a festive hour of tinsel, garland, Christmas cookies, cocoa, and carols. Cookies and cocoa will be served in the Narthex coffee bar area and you are welcome to bring your favorite Christmas cookies to share. The more, the merrier!!! Decorations are located on the 3rd floor in room 307, come on up – we’ll be there with bells on!

Christmas Poinsettia Order

You have the opportunity to order poinsettias either in honor or in memory of your loved one(s) until December 11th. There is also a memorial/honor alternative opportunity for giving towards our Mission Share as well. Check out the bulletin insert the next two Sundays or call the church office with any questions.
