Weekly Update

This Sunday: We Are All Gardeners

Do you ever feel like your efforts to make the world a better place are insignificant? Do you ever wish you could do more?

We have two members of our church who are leaving this summer to become Pastors, and we’re giving each of them one last chance to share a message with us. This week we’ll hear from Brenda Hogan who will remind us that all any of us has to offer is an awfully small seed, but God makes us into something great. (Can you believe the picture above is a tree that started from a mere mustard seed?)

But, as any good gardener knows, you need “good ground” to grow. Come to hear her “gardening tips” so you can grow yourself, too!

All-Church Covered Dish Dinner

An All-Church Covered Dish Dinner will take place on Sunday, June 24th in honor of our candidates for ministry, Anna Borders and Brenda Hogan.  We ask that you bring a main course and either a side or dessert to share.  Drinks will be provided.  There will be two baskets at the dinner–one for Anna and one for Brenda that you can place cards and gifts in. Come, celebrate this new journey in their lives.

New Staff Members

We have had two staffing changes at the church recently which will help us continue to spread God’s welcome to all.

First, as Anna Borders leaves to become a Pastor, Jeremiah Gramkow will be taking her place as Building Superintendent. Jeremiah has attended the 8:30 service for the past several years. While no one can fully take Anna’s place, we’re fortunate to have Jeremiah, too!

Second, Danny Koontz has decided to step aside as Youth Coordinator, though he will still be very much involved in our church and with your youth, too. Shaelee Mendenhall, our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, will be adding to her responsibilities to help our youth grow in their faith. Thanks for all you’ve done, Danny, and welcome in a new way, Shaelee!

Other Blessings
  • Pantry Needs: Spaghetti sauce, canned tuna (with pull tab to open), breakfast bars, fruit snack packs, canned fruit, canned vegetables, crackers, peanut butter, pancake mix & syrup.
  • Don’t forget to support our Hope Houses, the colorful boxes on the west side of our building! Bring anything to leave for anyone to take.
  • Have you linked your Dillons Plus card with the church? If you do, a portion of all your normal purchases will go to support our ministries! You can set it up by clicking here or contact the office if you’d like help.

Come this week and next to hear Brenda and Anna’s final thoughts before they leave to become pastors!
