Weekly Update

This Sunday: The Homeless Beggars

Have you ever experienced heaven?

I’m serious… have you ever had a moment that seemed so precious, so vibrant, so pregnant with something deeper than can be named, that you knew you were experiencing something more than just ordinary life?

Heaven isn’t just something for when we die, through Jesus we can have glimpses of it now, too. Come this Sunday to hear of a time in Jesus’ life when everyone with him experienced such a moment. Plus, learn a strategy that will lead to more of those moments for you, too!

PLUS– it’s a new member Sunday! Come celebrate some of the new faces in our midst that want to make it “official!”

Vacation Bible School is almost here! Here are the details so you can share them with family and friends:

  • Monday July 30- Friday August 3rd Free dinner, activities, music, etc for kids  (ages 4- 5th grade) from 6-8:30 PM
  • Saturday August 4: a bonus optional camping night will be held. All children attending will need to bring a life jacket, tent/ camping equipment, and a parent. More details to come!
  • Sunday August 5: VBS program during church.

We can’t wait to share fellowship and fun with your children!! Bring a friend!

Lay Visitation Brunch

The Health & Hospitality Team will host a Brunch on July 30th at 10am in the Church Parlor for all Lay Visitors and for anyone interested in becoming a Lay Visitor.  We know there are people from our congregation who go and visit people in nursing homes and ones who are home-bound that do not report back to the church office on their visits.  We would like to recognize those as well for their service to our church. Please let the church office know that you plan on attending this meeting by July 29th.

Love Thy Neighbor Vigil

This Sunday evening there will be a community picnic and candlelight vigil in support of those who are Americans by choice. There is much debate about immigration politics, but one thing we can all agree on: we have a responsibility to “Love Thy Neighbor.” The event will be this Sunday, July 29, at Fairgrounds Park, 2101 N Severance St. The picnic will start at 7pm with speakers and the candlelight vigil at 8:30– Pastor Jeff will be one of the speakers. Come for a hot dog, bring a side dish for the potluck if you want to, and hear from several in our community who agree! (You can read more on the Facebook event page by clicking here. The event is being organized by Hutch In Harmony, the same group who organized the Unity Service held at our church last Fall.)

Other Blessings
  • Pantry Needs: Spaghetti sauce, canned tuna (with pull tab to open), breakfast bars, fruit snack packs, canned fruit, canned vegetables, crackers, peanut butter, pancake mix & syrup.
  • Don’t forget to support our Hope Houses, the colorful boxes on the west side of our building! Bring anything to leave for anyone to take.
  • Have you linked your Dillons Plus card with the church? If you do, a portion of all your normal purchases will go to support our ministries! You can set it up by clicking here or contact the office if you’d like help.

Come this Sunday as we celebrate new members!
