Weekly Update

Good Friday

Tomorrow is Good Friday when we remember Jesus’ death on the cross. It should be an especially powerful service this year since we’ve spent the season learning and growing in the scriptures that will be read. Come at 6:30pm for this powerful service

If you’re unable to come that evening, another option is a community-wide service at noon at Park Place Christian Church, 27th and Adams.

Easter Sunday!

Easter is almost here! This Sunday is the highest celebration of all, the day we tell the story of Jesus’ empty tomb!

Many people think the empty tomb is about going to heaven when we die. They’re not wrong, but it’s really about so much more than that. Jesus’ resurrection is the sign of how God transforms life in so many ways. This Sunday we’ll sing and pray of Jesus’ resurrection with all our might!

Pastor Jeff will also talk about one of the most simple yet misunderstood truths in the Christian faith: heaven is real, but you don’t have to wait until you die to get there. Join us– and let’s Jesus’ risen presence be heaven to you!

(…AND, don’t forget that Easter Sunday is the perfect time to bring a friend. Don’t just invite them, bring them along with you to help them feel welcome!)

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter egg hunt will take place after second service at 12:10. Ages 5 and under will be in the garden area outside of fellowship hall. Ages 6-10 will be in agape garden. Don’t forget your Easter basket! If you do, no worries we will have a few available for those who need them.

Fair Price Clothing Store Grand Re-Opening

The Fair Price Clothing Store is a thrift store especially geared to help those in need. It’s a combined ministry of all the United Methodist churches in Hutchinson. It’s been on west 4th Ave. for a long time but has just finished relocating to 15 W. Ave. B, closer to downtown. They always appreciate donations of gently used clothing, towels, bedding, etc.

During April’s Third Thursday event we’re going to have a grand re-opening celebration! Come downtown on April 20 to celebrate! Our church has volunteered to provide packaged cookies, so please bring them soon so we’ll know we’ll have enough!

Appreciation Brunch

Sunday school Teacher/Teacher helper Appreciation Brunch is April 23rd. Please help us recognize the people in our church who work hard to serve others. In lieu of our normal Sunday school hour, we will meet in the parlor for Brunch and a short recognition. Please help by bringing breakfast casseroles, fruit or rolls.

Other Blessings

  • Pantry Needs: Crackers, soups, chili, cereal, spaghetti & spaghetti sauce, juices, mac & cheese.
  • Have you linked your Dillons Plus card with the church? If you do, a portion of all your normal purchases will go to support our ministries! You can set it up by clicking here or contact the office if you’d like help.
